Online communication in Blackboard and through Blogs, – as tools for aiding learning, has been an exciting phase for me – never having experienced this before, moreso to me who did my undergraduate degree at a time the world wide web was gaining momentum.
How do I rate the course – I am obviously biased as I feel I have derived a lot of useful insights from the Course. I first encountered VLEs through First Class when I enrolled for the MA’s core module, Media, Cultural Theory and Education. We used an interactive medium called First Class, which is more like Blackboard though Blackboard seems to be much more fun and easier to use than First class.
Setting up a blog was definitely a milestone though I’m yet to fully exploit it through incorporating some links and multi-media. As this is an ongoing enterprise, I feel I will fully utilise these tools.
I like the interactive facet of Blackboard as I’ve never felt alone in this academic journey especially when fellow colleagues have made postings on my blog.
The course is structured well with the Residential Days well placed to complement the gaps I’ve felt. The last Residential day forinstance gave a comprehensive perspective to the course.
